WHAT IS FLIX-3?

Flix-3 are a group of bright young things who were in former lives the committee of Flix at Loughborough Students Union at Loughborough University. Most of them were remanded to the committee between 1996 and 2002 and are now honorary members. While at university the committee was as much a social group as much as actually working to keep Flix afloat! To this end when the vast majority left University, it was decided we should keep in touch. As initial attempts with pigeons and semaphore were largely unsuccessful we eventually strapped an e-mail list to a table and waited while things bubbled and fizzed in jars and large machines buzzed, till, finally with help of electronic telecommunications and a handy bolt of lightening, Flix-3 was born.

The Name Flix-3

The name relates to Flixs' annual Christmas meal. Each year the Flix Christmas meal is barely contained in the Old Queen's Head in Shepshed. Here the committee is known as Flix 2, because a group of older Flix committee also visit the same restaurant each year, as they have been for over 16 years. Therefore when the Flix-3 group had their annual Christmas meal - for the purposes of booking we were Flix3 and hence the name.

This site is mainly for the use of the 24 or so members of Flix-3 so that no matter where they are in the world, as long as they can connect to the internet they are able to communicate with old friends.
